Chemical / Radiation Spill

• Any spillage of a hazardous chemical or radioactive material is to be reported IMMEDIATELY to the Campus Safety & Security Office.

• When reporting, be specific about the nature of the involved material and the exact location. Campus Safety & Security will contact the necessary specialized authorities and medical personnel.

• The key person on site should vacate the affected area at once and seal it off to prevent further contamination of other areas until the arrival of Campus Safety & Security personnel.

• Anyone who may be contaminated by the spill is to avoid contact with others as much as possible, remain in the vicinity and give their name to Campus Safety & Security. Required first aid and clean-up by specialized authorities should be started at once.

• If the building evacuation order is given, follow the Building Evacuation Procedures.

Explosion or aircraft Crash

In the event a mishap occurs such as an explosion or a downed aircraft (crash) on campus, take the following action:
• Immediately take cover under tables, desks and other objects, which will give you protection against falling glass or debris.
• After the effect of the explosion and/or fire have subsided, notify the Campus Safety & Security Office or the Switchboard. Give your name and the location and nature of the emergency.

When the building evacuation order is given, follow the Building Evacuation Procedures
